I love geysers, but I don't have many pictures of them. I am usually too fascinated watching them to worry with the camera. When I do get a shot the picture often doesn't capture the beauty of the geyser well enough. It's hard to capture the sense of motion, or the water droplets sparkling in the sun, or the rainbows in the spray, never mind the sounds and the smell and the feel of the cold spray on your face. You have to snap the picture at just the right moment, and the steam often gets in the way. Geysers are very beautiful, but not particularly easy to photograph. If you want geyser pictures that will do them justice be prepared to burn up a lot of film.
